World Eaters Centurion

An update!

I've (almost) finished my World Eaters Legion Centurion.

The base model is the limited edition Legion Centurion from Forge World. I've added Butcher's Nails made from plastic rod and Green Stuff to his head, a MKIII World Eaters shoulder pad and a plasma pistol from the Khorne Berzerkers set.

This is also my first time doing battle damaged armour and I'm quite pleased at how it's turned out.

Stuff & Things

It appears I've been neglecting my poor wee blog again. Not that any bugger reads it, mind. ;)

Lamenter Captain is nearly done! Just need to finish the backpack and base. Hurrah!

I have just started playing Infinity and have the Caledonian Highlander starter set ready for priming.

I am also enthusiastically embracing Age of Sigmar and am combining elements of the Khorne Goretide with the forces of Grandfather Nurgle in the form of some Putrid Blightkings, Plaguebearers, Nurglings, and a sorcerer who is so old he's a couple of mm shorter than everyone else and made of lead. I also have an ancient Champion of Khorne who I may use as a Lord in place of the dude from the AoS box. Also, I am finally getting around to painting a load of Vampire Counts stuff.

AND I've just bought my first Forgeworld model: the limited ed. Legion Centurion who I will be painting in World Eaters colours.

Finecast - First and Only

So, thanks to the system by which virtual money is exchanged for actual goods I bought the 2012 Games Day model off The Pirate Viking. My intention is to use him in my Lamenters army.

But this post is mainly about Finecast as this is my first and possibly only encounter with it.

What strikes me immedately is how many holes there are. Nothing drastic, but enough to make me go 'huh, time to get the green stuff out'. But the flipside is how easy it is to work... I mean, I'm used to struggling with trying to convert metal minis, but this stuff is easier than plastic.

The level of detail does not appear to me to be what was promised by GW, but it's still pretty good.

More when it's stuck together and green stuffed.

WAAAAAAARGH!

Long time, no blog. I rediscovered my creative energy but it all went into guitar stuff... but the combination of an impending Apocalypse battle, plus increased positivity in general means it's painting time! One boyz mob done, only 3,400 points to go.

I Am Painting!

Yes! This is true.

Currently on the table are some Ork Shoota Boyz and some Vampire Counts Grave Guard (old school metal ones). There will be photos. I still dislike painting. But I will finish these dudes!

The Howling Corruption

I've worked out the basic list for my 2013 army project, utilising as many minitures as I already know as I can.

Originally I had the idea of making it 2,013 points, but that would mean having to buy a LOT of models so I settled on 1,500 which I've more or less hit perfectly.

As before the basic concept is of a Space Wolf army that was corrupted by the malign influence of Nurgle. Where a lot of Nurgle background and imagery goes for the slow stagnation thing, I wanted to have something that more represented disease as an aggressive attacker, and so The Howling Corruption was born.

The fluff background is still somewhat vague, basically involving a Great Company who chased a force of Plague Marines into the Eye of Terror, but even as they defeated their foe the Plagueworld they were on was already working its influence. Centuries later the Howling Corruption emerged from the Eye to wreak havoc upon the Imperium. Lately a detachment of Alpha Legionnaires has joined the Company, but for what purpose?

HQ
Wolf Lord Kol Draugen
Termintor armour, lightning claws, ichor blood, dimensional key, Mark of Nurgle, blight grenades.

Troops
10 Chaos Marines (Grey Hunters)
8 close combat weapons, flamer, plasma gun, champion with lightning claws, Mark of Nurgle, icon of despair.

20 Cultists
8 autoguns, flamer, heavy stubber, champion with shotgun, Mark of Nurgle.

7 Plague Marines
Meltagun, plasma gun, champion with power weapon.

Elites
5 Chosen (Alpha Legion)
Power weapon, power fist, lightning claws, champion with power weapon and gift of mutation, veterans of the Long War.
Rhino with dozer blade, daemonic possession, and dirgecaster.

3 Chaos Terminators (Wolf Guard)
2 powerfists, Champion with combi-plasma and chainfist, Mark of Nurgle.

Fast Attack
5 Raptors (Blood Claws)
Flamer, Champion with lightning claws, Mark of Nurgle

Allied Daemons
7 Plaguebearers

3 Nurgling bases

So that's my basic army list. I am avoiding thinking about future plans for this, because that's one of the ways in which I get bogged down in theoreticals and never get around to working on the actual army building.
